Founder
Miko Santos
Founder and editor in chief, Kangaroofern Media Lab
Miko is a journalist who spent eight years on newspaper and radio desks in Manila, then several more inside a bank's fraud detection team. That combination is the reason the group's scam reporting reads the way it does.
He holds a BA in Journalism and started in print at the Manila Chronicle, Diario Uno and Mirror Weekly, and in radio at RMN, covering the EDSA 2 and EDSA 3 uprisings. He moved to New Zealand in 2006, where he reported on the 2011 Christchurch earthquake for GMA 7, and later settled in Adelaide. There he worked in fraud detection at Commonwealth Bank of Australia before founding Kangaroofern Media Lab. In 2021 he organised Podfiesta, the first virtual podcast summit for Australasia.
